De exacte betekenis van circuit breaker zal voor iedereen een andere invulling of betekenis hebben, maar hij mag van mij sowieso ingelijst, op een tegeltje, een t-shirt, waar dan ook eigenlijk. Mooi hoor!

Een stoel waarop je maximaal acht keer mag zitten
Het principe van DRM is door kunststudenten uit Lausanne toegepast op een stoel. Na acht keer op gezeten te zijn zakt deze DRM Chair in elkaar, net zoals bijvoorbeeld een ebook na verloop van tijd onleesbaar kan worden. Hoe het werkt:
The design of the chair is fairly simple; all the joints of the chair are cast in wax with a piece of nichrome wire embedded in the wax. An Arduino with a small switch keeps track of how many times the chair has been used, while a solenoid taps out how many uses are left in the chair every time the user gets up. When the internal counter reaches zero, a relay sends power through the nichrome wire, melting the wax, and returning the chair to its native dowel rod and wooden board form.

Rillingen: The Raven That Refused To Sing (Steven Wilson)
Wat een geweldig mooi nummer is dit en wat een fantastische video zit erbij: The Raven That Refused To Sing van Steven Wilson. Over de tekst zegt hij:
It’s about an old man at the end of his life who is waiting to die. He thinks back to a time in his childhood when he was incredibly close to his older sister. She was everything to him, and he was everything to her. Unfortunately, she died when they were both very young. This is not autobiographical; it’s fiction in that respect. But the guy is now at the end of his life, and he’s never been able to form any other kind of relationships. He’s spent his entire life alone, unable to relate to any other human beings.
A raven begins to visit this man’s garden, and the raven begins to represent a symbol or a manifestation of his sister. The thing is, his sister would sing to him whenever he was afraid or insecure, and it was a calming influence on him. In his ignorance, he decides that if he can get the raven to sing to him, it will be the final proof that this is, in fact, his sister who has come back to take him with her to the next life.

Zon, mooie luchten en een wieltjeszuiger
Wat een heerlijke rit vandaag door het noorden van Fryslân. Het is lente en zo voelde het ook. Veel zon, mooie luchten en zonder handschoenen of muts. De foto’s hieronder nam ik op de Vijfhuisterdijk tussen Hallum en Nieuwebildtzijl. En als toetje een irritante wieltjeszuiger m’n hielen laten zien, da’s ook altijd fijn.
Amanda Palmer durft te vragen
Meermaals schreef ik over de formule CmG (Contact met Gebruikers) + RtB (Reden te Betalen) = €€€. Ik vind het mooi om te zien hoe Amanda Palmer succesvol gebruikmaakt van deze benadering. Dank je wel Ingmar om me op haar presentatie te attenderen.
