Murw geslagen drumvellen als canvas voor jazzportretten

Kunstenaar Nicole Di Nardo verzamelt voor haar serie Painted Skins doorgeslagen drumvellen die ze als canvas gebruikt. Hierop schildert ze voornamelijk portretten van jazzmuzikanten. Di Nardo:

“I am interested in painting portraits of musicians who have fire in their bellies, those that reach a transcendental state while performing which is reflected in their expression.“
